But we know it as the original chocolate flavour fusion – the Aztecs enjoyed a bit of chilli with their chocolate to inspire cut-throat courage, and the Mayans mixed cocoa and chilli to cure all sorts of ailments. Add a sprinkle of cayenne and stir with a cinnamon stick for an authentic spin on an age-old classic.
